The wet chemical when applied to the burning oil creates a heat resistant crust over the surface of the oil, smothering it to prevent re-ignition.The water content of the wet chemical rapidly evaporates from the surface of the oil taking away the heat from the oil thus cooling the oil down, it also mixes with the cooling oil and the mixture rapidly saponifies becoming soapy like in texture.
Fitted with a hose and lance this extinguisher is a must for all kitchens (non-domestic) another added benefit is the wet chemical also has a class A rating (always an added bonus) It also has a fine spray discharge from the lance, and to ensure gentle application, it`s typical working pressure is around 7 Bar, where a water extinguisher is around 15 Bar, so an easy application, no harm to the user, what a development in fire products for the kitchen.
