Dry Powder Fire Extinguishers

They are widely available as portable fire extinguishers in various sizes ranging from 1kg to 9kg and also available in the trolley unit sizes of 50kg and 100kg. When used on a fire, dry powder extinguishers have a rapid knockdown effect on the fire and are effective on classes, however the only drawback is the clean up operation afterwards, as the powder can contaminate a large area with very fine powder particles.

Consider alternatives depending on the environment, especially an office, hospital, commercial kitchen or any sterile environments. Not recommend for any other level than ground level (unless outside or the end user is a member of the fire service) as the end user could experience poor visibility conditions from the powder particles in the air which could delay evacuation from a burning building.

Recommend for gas boiler rooms, petrol forecourts, fuel tanks, vehicles, combines, chemical plants, gas welding trolleys, LPG storage areas, and vehicle workshops.
