Manual handling Courses at your premises in The UK

Section two of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and regulations 10 and 13 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 demand employers to provide their personnel with health and safety information and training. This should be supplemented as necessary with more specific information and instruction on manual handling injury risks and prevention, as part of the steps to reduce risk required by regulation 4(1)(b)(ii) of the Regulations.

The risk of personal injury from a manual handling task will be increased where workers do not have the facts and information or training essential to allow them to work in safety. For instance, if they do not know about any unusual characteristics of loads or about the system intended to ensure their safety during manual handling, this may result in injury. It is imperative that where, for instance, mechanical handling aids are offered, training is provided in their proper use.

The provision of information and training on their own would not ensure safe manual handling. The initial intention in reducing the risk of personal injury should be to design the manual handling procedures to be as safe as is reasonably practicable. This will likely involve improving the task, the working environment and reducing the load weight as desirable. Where feasible the manual handling operations really should be intended to suit individuals, not the other way around. Efficient instruction has an important part to play in reducing the risk of manual handling injury.

We charge a set fee per course and not per candidate, we normally train between 12-15 candidates per session so if you have limited numbers to train we would strongly recommend you invite staff from neighbouring companies to join you and share the cost which can equate to less than £33.00 per person and we come to you!...our set fee is £495.00+vat whether you have 1 (yes...we have trained just 1) or 15 candidates on the course so the more you train the more cost-effective it will be for you. For our latest availability just send us an e-mail with your details, let us know how many candidates you would like trained (optional) but up to 15, include your address and any specific requests, for example, you may want us to train your staff on specific company procedures and we will provide you with the dates within 24 hours. We strongly suggest that once you have our latest dates try and pencil in at least 2 dates with your staff as a delayed decision may mean that your chosen date may be unavailable as the dates are subject to change on a daily basis due to course popularity, we hope to hear from you soon and of course meeting and training you soon.

Just one last note to remember...if you can provide the equipment, goods, machinery or items that your staff use and handle it is recommended that these items are available for the course duration for candidates to fully understand and recognise techniques suited to their working environment, this will also make them feel comfortable and confident.
